I find myself in what is known in the world of conception as the two-week-wait. What is the two week wait you ask, well I am going to tell you. The two-week-wait is the period of time after ovulation has occurred and before Aunt Flo show her ugly face. It is the period of time where you have done all you could do to try to get pregnant, and all that is left to do is wait until you are far along in the cycle to POAS (that’s “Pee on a Stick” to those of you unfamiliar with the TTC lingidy). It is the period of time that goes by so slowly, that I am going to go crazy. Seriously. Why can’t we have some sort of built in indicator that turns on the morning after conception? That would have been a good idea. But alas, we are left waiting. Today I am 4 DPO and I feel totally not pregnant. I have no symptoms that would make me believe that we have caught the little eggie. However, it is still early. I pray to God that I am pregnant. It would be wonderful. I don’t think that it is going to happen so fast though, but a girl can dream. According to Fertility Friend, I should wait until AF is due to test. This would have me testing in 10 days from now. I would love to sit here and tell you that I am going to wait until that day, but I have two First Response tests that are dying to get peed on, and are supposed to detect pregnancy 5 days before your missed period. So, I may be testing a little bit sooner than recommended. Anyway, I have a pretty busy next 10 days, so I am hoping time goes by faster. We shall see.
Tomorrow is Canada Day. We have the day off. We have a day off in the middle of the week. Now, I am all about the day off, but couldn’t they just give us the Monday or Friday off instead of the Wednesday. I am going to get all confused. On Thursday, I have to work, but then I have Friday off. Not bad. Love the 3-day work week!
On Friday, my husband and I will depart for Toronto, and then on Saturday, we depart for what we are affectionately calling “Honeymoon: Part Deux”. We are going to the Mayan Riveriera for my brother-in-law’s wedding. Since it is so close to our wedding date, we thought we would take advantage and call this a second honeymoon. I am excited! I hope all goes well, i.e. the flight, the swine flu, etc. Wish us luck!
