This past weekend, we headed up to Hamilton for Vlad to compete in the Joslin’s Canadian Open Grappling Tournament. Exactly one year before, Vlad competed in the same tournament, and lost in his first match. It was the first tournament that he competed in. This year, he had more training under his belt, and more tournament experience, but was competing in the intermediate level, instead of beginners. We had no idea how it would go. Well, Vlad won his first match 11-0, and won his second match 7-0. He made it all the way to the final match without having a point scored against him. In the final match, he lost, but only buy advantage. He won the silver medal in his division! I am soooo proud of him. He deserves this! Way to go honey!!!
Four competitors from Tecumseh Martial Arts Academy competed at the Joslin’s tournament, and all four of them got medals. Good job boys!

I am writing this post from the passenger seat of my car, on the highway. Just another reason why I am in love with my BlackBerry; you can use it as a modem. An it is pretty darn fast too. So, I am in my car, driving to Toronto, on my awesome new laptop, on the internet! What more could a girl want? Life is good!

We are on our way to Toronto because Vlad is participating in a BJJ tournament this weekend. I am really hoping that he does well. He is so good, and deserves to place in this tournament. Anyway, back to browsing the web on the highway. Hee Hee!

We got about a foot of snow. Craziness. I still had to go to work. I also had a surprise party for a friend of ours. So I just got home. Anyways, my big news is that my best friend Amie got engaged to her boyfriend, now fiance, Jeff. I am so happy for them.
I can’t wait for their wedding.
On Wednesday, I had a pretty good day at Jiu-jitsu. It was the first day that I was allowed to roll! When the class first started, I was not asked to go with the new students this time. I was allowed to participate in the actual class! Vlad and I worked on two half-guard sweeps, then everyone started sparring. I just sat there for a minute not knowing what to do. I had never be
allowed to stay.
Let me just say, I pretty much sucked. This is what I expected. I am still too scared that I am going to hurt someone, and found myself apologizing constantly. I’ve got to get over it. Also, I had a really hard time remembering what I had learned, and what I can do. I felt ike a retard. After class, Vlad and I worked together a bit, which is always fun! The good hing is hat even though I sucked hard, I am not discouraged. And I still love it!

19. That is how many more days I have left until Christmas break. I cannot wait! I always get really burnt out towards the end of the year. I can’t believe how fast the wedding is coming. It is really scary.
On Saturday, we have a club jiu jitsu tournament to go to. I obviously am to new to participate in the tournament, but Vlad is participating, so I am going to watch him. I have decided to keep a Jiu-Jitsu training log. Just a simple log, or b-log if you will, to keep track of what I learn. It’s located at http://www.bjjgirl.com and is just a plain old wordpress blog, for now at least.
Also, this weekend we our having our annual friends christmas dinner and drinkfest. We usually do this at The Keg, and then go out afterward, but this year, The Keg was booked, so we are going to Buda. I have never been there before, but I hear it is really good.
