Something that I have to get off my chest. I am so sick of people bitching and complaining about abortion being murder, and that woman should not have the right to choose what is happening in their own bodies. I am not here to argue whether or not it is, or when exactly life begins. However, how is it that most of these people that want to remove a woman’s ability to choose, because it is “murder”, are the same people that are pro capital punishment and pro war. How is killing a living, breathing (on it’s own) human being, criminal or not, any better than terminating a pregnancy, where the human in question may only be a few cells, and, if removed from the mother, would not be able to survive even with all the medical help available? What gives them the right to choose to end that person’s life? How is killing another human being, of any colour, of any nationalities, in any country, ok? How can you claim to be pro life?
Another thing that bothers the shit out of me is how some people are so against Gay Marriage/Unions. I don’t care what your religion says about homosexuality, there is supposed to be a separation of church and state in the “free” world. This means that a gay couple should have the same rights as a straight couple. Saying that they cannot unite in a civil union (i.e. marriage), in the same way that a man and a women can, is a human rights violation. I absolutely cannot believe that they just voted yes on Prop 8 in California. I am glad I live in a place where it is legal for gay people who love each other to get married.
And socialism. Don’t even get me started on socialism. I mean free heath-care, free education, sounds so terrible to me (note the sarcasm). I can’t even tell you how nice it is to know that I will not have to file bankruptcy if I never need to have surgery, or stay in the hospital, and that I can have a baby and not have to worry about paying a bill when I leave.
