Mini

by noelle on September 21, 2009

When we were in Toronto this weekend, Vlad got his birthday present from his brother.  It is the HP Mini 110.  Well, I absolutely had to have one too!  It is the cutest little thing that I ever did see.  Here it is next to a large Tim Horton’s coffee.  It’s a teeny, tiny 10 inches.  Isn’t it cute?

It is so much smaller than my laptop.  I still love my laptop, because the specs are way better, but this is such a wonderful little thing that I can just sling into a purse and take with me wherever I go.  Here it is sitting on top of my laptop.  (sorry for the image quality…I didn’t have my camera with me, so I was stuck using the camera on my BlackBerry)

I also bought a cute sleeve for it, and a Case Login Laptop bag, for when I go away.  This one has room for all the accessories.

Internet on the Road

by noelle on September 18, 2009

I am writing this post from the passenger seat of my car, on the highway.  Just another reason why I am in love with my BlackBerry; you can use it as a modem.  An it is pretty darn fast too.  So, I am in my car, driving to Toronto, on my awesome new laptop, on the internet!  What more could a girl want? Life is good!

We are on our way to Toronto because Vlad is participating in a BJJ tournament this weekend.  I am really hoping that he does well.  He is so good, and deserves to place in this tournament.  Anyway, back to browsing the web on the highway.  Hee Hee!

It’s “Storming” Here

by noelle on April 22, 2009

Well, I finally took the plunge and got the Blackberry Storm.  I had wanted this little baby since I first heard whispers about it on the net.  But after reading many poor reviews, I was hesitant to get it.  But then after searching a little bit longer, I found some really positive reviews, so I was encouraged.  I was eligible for a phone upgrade, and wanted a phone that could access the internet with ease.  I am a blackberry person, and my employer offers a spectacular plan for blackberries, so I knew I wanted another one,  and didn’t want to go the route of the iPhone.  I had been using the 8830 World Edition for 18 months and really liked it, except for the fact that the small screen made it less then optimal for internet browsing.

After a couple of weeks of going back and forth between upgrading or not, I decided that I would go for it.  Besides, I still have the 8830, which is only 6 months old due to an issue with the first one I had.  So, I knew that if I absolutely hated the Storm, I could revert back to the trusty 8830.  I don’t think this is going to be an issue.

I got the Storm yesterday, and I am already in love with it.  I absolutely love it.   I love the tactile touch screen, the slim design, the brilliant display.  I love that I can integrate my Lotus Notes inbox and calendar.  I love this BlackBerry.  Only time will tell if it will continue to amaze.

In Wedding news, everything is really ready to go.  I have an appointment for my make-up trial, I found a hairdresser and my dress is at the seamstress.  I still need to make an appointment with the DJ, get together with the officiant, buy Vlad’s ring, buy the groomsman gifts, get Vlad to the tux store to get fitted, organize the rehersal dinner.

In TTC news, this is officially my last cycle that we are not “officially” trying to conceive!  Next cycle, after the wedding, it will be full speed ahead with the baby making!!!  I am beyond thrilled!  Soooooo  excited!

Migration Complete

by noelle on January 27, 2009

Yesterday, I decided that I didn’t want to use drupal anymore for this blog.  Drupal is a very powerful CMS, but I don’t have the time to keep up with the maintenance, and because I am only using this as a blog, I figured that I would use wordpress.  It is easier to configure and maintain, and is specifically designed for blogging.  So yesterday night, I started the tedious process of migrating everything over.  I am finally finished.  It looks a little bit different, but it’s pretty much the same.

I have been getting very, very excited thinking about the fact that in just 3 months, I will be married, and I will be trying to get pregnant.  I have been waiting for this for so many years.  I am seriously so excited that sometimes I want to scream.   Ahhhhh!  I have already started taking a prenatal vitamin.  Did I mention that I am totally and utterly excited?  I really wonder how long it is going to take.  Sometimes I think it may happen right away, and then other times I think it is going to take forever.  I have seen people struggle for years to get pregnant, so I really don’t know.  I really hope it happens fast.  Sometimes I sound like a broken record.
