Hummus
Noelle’s Hummus Recipe
1 can of Chick Peas (28 oz, but does not have to be exact)
2 tablespoons Tahini (Sesame Seed Paste)
2 large cloves of garlic (or 3 small Cloves)
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
½ cup water
½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
Juice of one large lemon
Cayenne Pepper (For Garnish)
Parsley (For Garnish)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (For Garnish)
Drain liquid from chick peas. Place chick peas, garlic, Tahini, lemon juice, salt and olive oil into a food processor and blend.
Slowly add the water until you get the consistency that you like. If you like it thicker, add less water. If you like it thinner, just add more.
Blend in food processor until hummus is smooth. You may have to stop it and scrape the sides.
Place hummus in bowl, and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle a little bit of cayenne pepper and chopped parsley (if desired) on the top. Serve with warm pita bread. Enjoy!
